What a Difference a Day Makes

Tomorrow I have to go to the hospital for a bronchoscopy. Doesnt sound like much fun. They stick a tube through your nose or throat and go all the way down into your lungs....ICK! I just found this out an hour ago and haven't had time to imagine all the worst stuff that could be growing down there....

It startled me today when I told my ex-husband that I no longer believed in God. I guess it is something that I don't want to look at, don't want to think about. It comes not from a scientific sense but from feeling let down by what the world is and by where I am in it.

I have missed so much work lately being sick. Today, I had to go to the dr. for a breathing treatment. I feel guilty but I really shouldn't as I haven't been doing real well. Guess all those years of playing hooky for this, that, and whatever, weigh heavy on my conscience. I really can't afford to lose this crappy job. They are raising insurance premiums 10 dollars every two weeks but its still better than many other places. I really need to try harder to get a city, county, or state job. I think I would like working at the University and its relatively close to my house. I just haven't had much luck with jobs here in Asheville. My age could be problematic but most people don't guess near at how old I am....I bet they really do peak at the stats page though... the one that they aren't supposed to use in hiring. (like race, age, and so on)... I don't know...I'm getting worried. I dont think I can live on SSI IF I could even get it.

Our economy is headed for disaster. I feel it in my bones.

Mythmaking

I volunteered for Mythic Journeys 2006 . That would be awesome if I get called. While its all a bit steep for me, I'm sure I could cough up at least the room price. I've always been a huge fan of this sort of thing, not so much as a fantasy reader (truthfully, I havent had much luck there) but more from a psychological perspective. At one time, I did have a few months of Jungian type therapy which was a refreshing departure from the Freudian couch. I almost believed in magic and I stopped thinking of myself as mentally "sick".

God, I sleep lousy when I take my codiene. I didn't go to bed until 4:09 am last night, finally fell asleep around 6 and was wide awake by 9. (and this is taking all my sleep medication as well) I swear it acts on my body just like speed. I get palpitations and have a great deal of energy and I am really f'ing jumpy. Last night watching Threshold (which I didn't care for either), I jumped about 2 feet during one of the scarier parts.

I made over 400 dollars on Ebay this week. (but then you have to minus postage and fees) It went out as fast as it came in. I don't have a lot more to put up. I need to find a source for back issues of art zines... They sold well and for beaucoup bucks. Also, I must remember to ask for the day off on that first day of the library's book sale in October. As far as the stuff that I have on Amazon goes, I was really shocked that the F Scott Fitgerald stuff I inherited from my 2nd husband, sold so fast. Yuck...I hate F. Scott Fitzgerald.

I think when all  3 people who read this blog post comments, I'll respond to them here. Its just easier that way.
